Darrow-Riverway & Evans-Riverway 138-Kilovolt Transmission Line Project
The Darrow-Riverway & Evans-Riverway 138-Kilovolt Transmission Line Project proposes to construct a new 138-Kilovolt (“kV”) substation to be called Riverway Substation. ATSI also proposes two new 138-kV transmission lines that will connect Riverway Substation with the existing 138-kV transmission system in Summit County. These new lines will be constructed from the existing Darrow Substation to Riverway Substation (approximately 7 miles) and from Evans Substation to Riverway Substation (approximately 5 miles). The transmission line will be supported primarily on wood pole structures.
The project will be located in the communities of Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake, Stow and Tallmadge, Summit County, Ohio. The project will reinforce the transmission and distribution systems for approximately 49,000 customers in the communities of Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Silver Lake and Stow. In addition, the project will allow for greater operational flexibility and for future load growth.
