For Your Business
Energy Solutions for Business
The Energy Solutions for Business Program is available to all commercial, industrial, and other non-residential customers located within the FirstEnergy New Jersey service territory. Below are the programs currently available. Costs of these programs may be recovered through customer rates in accordance with New Jersey law.
By participating in the Company’s energy efficiency and peak demand reduction programs, customers agree their electric utility will maintain ownership of all Capacity Rights from electric savings measures, which refers to the demand reduction associated with any energy efficiency and peak demand reduction measure for which incentives were provided by the Company. Your electric utility will aggregate these energy efficiency demand reduction attributes into the PJM capacity market as appropriate, with proceeds being used to reduce customers’ costs for the programs.
Financing Options

Energy Management Program
Energy Management Program is comprised of subprograms that offer a comprehensive mix of energy-saving custom measures such as basic HVAC tune-ups, building systems tune-ups, controls’ calibration, diagnostic testing and installation of measures to enhance your building’s energy performance and savings.
The Energy Management Program includes the following subprograms:
- Building Tune-up (BT)
- Retrocommissioning (RCx)
- Strategic Energy Management (SEM)
Financing Opportunities exist for JCP&L’s commercial and industrial customers participating in the Energy Management program. Maximum to be financed of up to $250,000 and as low as $2,500 at 0% interest for up to 5 years.
-
Building Tune-Up
Building Tune-Up offers incentives to offset the upfront costs for adjustment and calibration of controls, diagnostic testing, and the installation of updated/replacement of the existing HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting control measures that enhance building energy performance and savings. Tune-ups cover either a limited quantity of controls (not whole building) and/or low or no cost measures that can be adjusted/installed by a building operator without the need for an RCx professional.
-
Retrocommissioning
Retrocommissioning involves a systemic evaluation of opportunities to improve existing energy-using systems. RCx improves the efficiency of existing facility’s mechanical, lighting, and control systems and identifies longer term improvements. The process can often resolve problems that occurred during design or construction, or address problems that have developed throughout the building’s life as equipment has aged, or as the building use has changed. RCx also includes Virtual Commissioning (VCx) or Meter Based Commissioning (MBCx) that utilize building meter data.
-
Strategic Energy Management
Strategic Energy Management is designed to optimize energy consumption for larger C&I customers through a long-term management of existing systems and processes. The SEM process begins with developing a Strategic Energy Management Plan (SEMP), tracking and benchmarking[1] your facility and moves on to energy assessments to identify potential savings measures.
