WV Misop Projects: Edgelawn-Goff Run, Weirton-Wylie Ridge-South Toronto, Albright-Kingwood-Pruntytown Projects
Monongahela Power Transmission Planning has identified transmission substation protection schemes that are using a certain vintage of substation electromechanical relays and communication equipment that have a history of misoperation at the Sutton Substation. FirstEnergy’s standards call for enhancement of fault protection to reduce relay misoperations, reduce the number of transmission system elements removed from service during a fault and increase the availability of transmission system elements. Various proposed upgrades will be made at the following substations, Edgelawn, Goff Run, Albright, Kingwood, Pruntytown, Wylie ridge, and Weirton.
Construction of the Projects are expected to commence on or about May 1, 2024, and be completed on or about November 1, 2024.
