2023 Short-Term REC RFP

The Illuminating Company, Ohio Edison Company and Toledo Edison Company (FirstEnergy Ohio Utilities) will be conducting a Request For Proposal (RFP), through CRA International, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAI), the independent RFP manager, for the purchase of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), inclusive of both solar and non-solar Renewable Energy Credits, as required to comply with the renewable energy resource requirements of R.C. 4928.01, R.C. 4928.64, and R.C. 4928.65 as may be amended.

CRA International, Inc., on behalf of FirstEnergy Ohio Utilities, is administering this RFP through a website established by CRA International, Inc., to procure 570,000 RECs (which may include solar and non-solar RECs), sourced from generating facilities certified in accordance with rules and procedures put forth by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, to be deliverable through PJM-EIS GATS and to be generated between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2023. No energy or capacity will be purchased under this RFP.
